US Airways intends to eliminate some 200 flights, or 12.9% of its current schedule of 1,550 daily departures, by Dec. 31 as it seeks to reorganize under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It expects to operate a fleet of 280 mainline aircraft by year end, down from 311 in Aug.

The carrier now has restructuring agreements with unions representing all of its organized labor groups, clearing the way for the finalization of its application for a $1 billion federal loan guarantee. …
