US rejects UK-proposed 'mini-deal' on open skies. (News Briefs).(Brief Article)

UK-US open skies talks are at a standstill again after the US rejected a so-called mini-deal offered up by the UK last month. Under the proposal, bmi british midland and two US carriers would have been allowed limited access to London Heathrow, breaking the protected status of the current "Heathrow Four"--British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines and United Airlines. Additionally, there would have been greater access for cargo carriers.
