A critical shortage of technical workers, hi-tech engineers and scientists as well as trained flight crews will beset aerospace and air-transport industry executives throughout the remainder of this century.

This somber observation, voiced by Aerospace Industries Association President Don Fuqua reflects industrywide concern for its ability to meet tremendous change and expansion forecast for the year 2000 and beyond. Fuqua says the problem ranges far beyond the already-recognized shortage of flight crews, airplane mechanics and electronics specialists to include computer-maintenance and operations specialists; scientists, engineers, mathematicians, financial and management executives. …
