Comair out, Chautauqua in for Fla. Delta Connection. (Regional News).(Brief Article)

Delta Air Lines tapped Chautauqua Airlines to operate as a Delta Connection codeshare parmer in Florida. The decision was followed by an announcement that Comair's hub operation in Orlando will shut down. The Comair maintenance and ground-handling operations will continue there but the flight attendant and pilot bases will be relocated. The carrier employs about 400 at the hub.

"Comair will increase its presence in Dallas and put more flights into Cincinnati and Atlanta," said spokesperson Nick Miller. "The overall priority would be looking at a market with a higher potential for business travel which has the potential for higher yields and better profits."

Comair, a wholly owned Delta subsidiary, operates a fleet of 50-seat CRJs while Chautauqua flies the 37-seat ERJ-135 and the 50-seat ERJ-145. …
