District court issues preliminary injunction against Comair pilots.(Brief Article)(Statistical Data Included)

A US District Court judge in Kentucky has issued a preliminary injunction prohibiting ALPA-represented pilots at Comair from staging any disruption in airline operations. The order came following an alleged illegal job slowdown in mid-December, which prompted a lawsuit by the airline.

The court restrained ALPA and the Comair pilots "from participating in, approving of, or continuing any disruption, curtailment or restriction of normal airline operations or procedures." The judge further instructed all pilots to refrain from improper maintenance writeups and to provide Comair a copy of all such instructions.

The order appears to be a further example of how courts are looking upon the effect these work slowdowns have on air travelers. …
