Chautauqua Airlines, the Indianapolis-based US Airways Express carrier, flew 74,012 passengers in Sept., exceeding by 7.3% the previous record set in June, 1998, of 68,992. Load factor of 58.5% surpassed June's figure by a scant .7 points.

Chautauqua VP-Marketing John Presburg said the increases in load factors throughout the third quarter, particularly in Sept., were as a result of marketing and promotional programs started last May.

RPMs flown for Sept. were up 23.9% to 16.5 million compared with 13.3 million recorded for the year-earlier period. …
