Asian Aerospace 2000 is propelled by Asia's economic recovery

Singapore's premier air show for the region--Asian Aerospace 2000--is primed to be the right show in the right place at the right time to highlight the return of vitality to Asia's airline industry. After one down show, in 1998 as Asian economic troubles deepened, the upcoming event--the first major air show of the new millennium--will be opening just as carriers begin to break the order hiatus that has held growth in the region in check. Consequently, organizers are expecting next month's exposition to be the largest ever.

While traditionally the show's excitement has been driven by forces and events in the region, this year's Asian Aerospace may receive additional ebullience from Airbus Industrie's nearing decision on launch of the huge A3XX, an aircraft designed for and targeted at Asia/Pacific markets. …
