TWA RJ service to begin next year.(Trans World Airlines partners with Chautauqua for service)(Brief Article)

Trans World Airlines next summer will launch Embraer ERJ-145 jet service with marketing partner Chautauqua Airlines as a result of a recently signed 10-year agreement between the two. Under the agreement, Indianapolis-based Chautauqua will operate at least 15 ERJ-145s with an option for an additional 15. All firm aircraft will be in service by the fourth quarter of 2001.

"This first RJ agreement is a major step forward for TWA," said President and CEO William F. Compton. "It will enable us to greatly expand service under the TWA flight code." Chautauqua's VP-Marketing John Presburg agreed: "This is a good fit for both of us with us in the Midwest and TWA in St. Louis. Both of us will benefit from this agreement. …
