EgyptAir crash deliberate?(Brief Article)(Statistical Data Included)

Investigators into the Oct. 31 crash of EgyptAir Flight 990 into the Atlantic Ocean are examining the possibility that the disaster was the result of a deliberate act by a crewmember. Recovery of the FDR and preliminary analysis of the cockpit sounds and crew comments before and during the aircraft's fatal dive appear to point in that direction.

A total of 217 passengers and crewmembers were killed in the accident. Radar reports and data from the FDR show that the 767-300ER made a sudden, very fast descent from 33,000 ft. to around 16,000 ft. during which it reached mach 0.86. The jet climbed briefly back to 24,000 ft. …
