ERA used the fairytale setting of Disneyland Paris to reveal some potential nightmares for the industry in the new millennium

Air traffic control delays, a shortage of captains and maintenance personnel, lack of acceptance of JARs by various European countries and ongoing environmental concerns were some of the key issues discussed at the European Regions Airline Assn.'s annual general assembly at the Hotel New York in Disneyland Paris in late September.

"There has been a dreadful deterioration in ontime performance," ERA Director General Mike Ambrose told a packed hall on the first day. "The Kosovo situation made the situation worse, but it cannot be [held] accountable for the serious deterioration in the performance of many state agencies that provide air traffic control. …
