1999 worst year for European delays.(Statistical Data Included)

This likely will go down as Europe's worst year in terms of delays, AEA says. According to preliminary figures for June, 37.3% of intra-Europenn flights departed more than 15 min. late, marking the fourth time in six months that more than 30% of flights were delayed. Greatest increase was in so-called slot delays, with delay minutes up 150% in April, 108% in May and 68% in June. The Kosovo conflict contributed to some of the delays, AEA said, adding that problems elsewhere largely were concentrated in the arc between northern Italy, Switzerland, southern France and northeastern Spain. …
