New U-Tapao airframe facility aims to capture 50% of its business from outside the airline

Thai Airways International opened its second maintenance facility at U-Tapao recently. located on a site of around 2,400 acres, the New Aircraft Maintenance Facility comprises 20 buildings including hangar, workshops, management and training offices, storage space, canteen and water treatment plant. Each of the structures is built to high standards and, in the words of Thailand Transport Minister Suthep Thaugsuban, is "equipped with state-of-the-art power and communications systems."
