Swissair and Sabena.(Brief Article)

Swissair and Sabena are tightening their already close accord with the transfer by Swissair of its sales and marketing departments to Sabena's base in Brussels. The move is estimated to save $154 million a year. The partners are setting up Airline Management Co. under Philippe Bruggisser, CEO of Swissair parent company SAirGroup, and will amalgamate most operational departments into it.

Swissair played down the risk of job losses to its Zurich-based staff from Project Diamond, the code name for the plan that will be fully implemented from June 2000. Both Sabena and Swissair will continue to maintain their separate boards of directors, headquarters and brand identities. …
