In what is believed to be the first such occurrence in the US, maintenance provider SabreTech Inc. was indicted on murder and manslaughter charges by the state of Florida over the company's role in the May 1996 crash of ValuJet 592. An NTSB investigation determined that SabreTech employees mislabeled full oxygen generators as empty. The generators subsequently were put on board the ValuJet aircraft, leading to a fatal fire and the crash of the airplane. …
