Bombardier unveils 70-seater.

Montreal--Bombardier Aerospace's CRJ-700, the 70-seat follow-on to its popular 50-seat model, made its public debut during a well-choreographed rollout ceremony just one day after its first flight.

Nearly 750 customers, dignitaries and well-wishers watched as Riverdance-like dancers welcomed the first flight-test article, painted in a contemporary graphic style, onto the floor of a large paint shop converted for the day's festivities.

John Manley, Minister of Industry for Canada, called the CRJ-700 the latest offering by one of the nation's "most highly respected companies." Its development was aided by a C$87 million loan from the government's Technology Partnership Canada program, which helps Canadian companies develop and market new products. …
