Aeroel: The new Israeli third-level carrier plans to add two 737-200s to its fleet this year and to launch international charter flights in the Middle East. It expects the new services to boost its passenger total to 250,000 in 1999 from 55,000 in 1998 and 20,000 in 1997.

Arkia: Israel's leading domestic carrier, which also conducts extensive international charter operations, is gearing for strong growth in 1999. Privately owned Arkia is setting up an airline subsidiary in Nigeria, will be adding three ATR 72s to its domestic fleet of 11 Dash 7s and two 737-200As, and is purchasing two 757-300s.
