Chautauqua to operate ERJ- 145s.

In what is seen as a long-awaited move toward more deployment of regional jets by US Airways. Chautauqua Airlines, the Indianapolis-based US Airways Express, has entered into an agreement with its Major partner to operate 10 50-seat Embraer RJ-145LRs. Chautauqua becomes the second of nine US Airways Express carriers to be allowed to operate RJs, Mesa being the other.

"It's been a long time corning," said Doug Abbey, president of Washington, D.C.. consultancy AvStat Associates. "I would hope that these aircraft would lie deployed at Pittsburgh and/or Charlotte, as opposed to Washington or Boston, in an effort to truly exploit the huh-raiding and expansion of huh catchment area potential that these airplanes hold. …
