Allegheny, Express pilots get new contracts.

The ALPA-represented pilots of Allegheny Airlines, a US Airways Express operator, have ratified a four-year collective bargaining agreement following 10 months of negotiations. An earlier tentative agreement was rejected by the pilot group.

Contract provisions contain significant improvements in salary, benefits and job security. The accord provides considerable furlough protection. along with scheduling provisions that emphasize alleviating hardships faced by reserve pilots.

According to ALPA, pay increases put Allegheny captains at 6- 14% and first officers at 15-25% above the industry average in the first year of the contract. …
