CCAir's Express agreement renewed.

CCAir, an independent carrier operating as US Airways Express in the southeast U.S., announced the extension of its Express service agreement through Dec. 31, 2003. CCAir is one of nine US Airways Express carriers.

Ken Gann, CCAir's CEO, and Jonathan Ornstein, Mesa Air Group's CEO, said extension of the Express agreement was a critical step in finalizing Mesa's proposed acquisition of CCAir. Both cited CCAir's financial turnaround as a principal reason for renewing the agreement.

"We're hoping to get the acquisition completed by the middle of May," said Ornstein. After it is complete, Mesa intends to operate CCAir as a standalone subsidiary, similar to what it did with now-defunct WestAir of Fresno, Calif. …
