An uncommanded hardover of the rudder, most likely caused by a malfunctioning power control unit, was the probable cause of the Sept. 1994 crash of a US Airways 737-300 near Pittsburgh, NTSB determined. The Safety Board said a similar event probably caused the 1991 crash of a United Airlines 737-200 near Colorado Springs. …
