Independently owned Sheffield City Airport, the U.K.'s first new regional airport in 50 years, was inaugurated officially in mid-Dec., by the Duke of Edinburgh, although KLM has operated commercial flights to Amsterdam since Feb. 16, 1998. Brymon Airways, a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways, will resume weekend charter flights this summer between Sheffield and Jersey, a route that was launched in May, 1998. …
