U.S. Regionals' growth continues.(Brief Article)

Passenger enplanements, RPMs, departures and load factor for U.S. Regional airlines increased significantly between July and Sept., 1998, giving further evidence of their importance in the air transportation system; according to RAA.

For the third quarter, RPMs totaled 4.79 billion, a 15% increase over the same period in 1997, while passenger enplanements reached 19.5 million, compared with 17.8 million in the third quarter of 1997. The industry's overall average load factor increased 2.6 points to 60.4% and more than 1.14 million departures were completed.

The average passenger trip length rose to 245. …
