Air Pacific grows profitably.(Company Profile)

Air Pacific continues to grow the Pacific islands' most profitable carrier with an all Boeing fleet-expansion program to boost capacity 70% despite the Asian economic downturn that has slowed most other airlines in the region.

The Fiji international carrier has posted consecutive profits for the past 12 years--most recently F$8.3 million, up 7.8% on revenues of F$284.3 million--and is confident it will maintain that performance with a bigger fleet and more routes. In Sept., Air Pacific became the region's first carrier to operate the new-generation 737-700 and in May and Aug., will take delivery of two larger 737-800s, replacing its current dash 300 and dash 500 aircraft, with a third on option. …
