Singapore Airlines' plans to buy a stake in Taiwanese carrier China Airlines collapsed with the Singapore carrier citing irreconcilable differences. SIA sources say that the breakdown is "amicable,' but there are few chances of talks restarting. The cause of the collapse is believed to he a conflict over the size of SIA's proposed investment, with SM wanting up to 25% against CAL's desire to limit this to 10%.
