Setting the stage for future participation in the oneworld alliance, Japan Airlines is entering into separate code-sharing/frequent-flier partnerships with oneworld founders American Airlines and British Airways. Under an agreement announced Jan. 11, AA and JAL will seek government permission to code share on transpacific flights between the U.S. and Japan and on flights within the U.S. and Japan that feed these flights. In the future, the airlines also expect to code share on beyond services to Canada, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific islands. …
