Trans States pilots ask for federal mediation.

"Throughout these past five months, management has canceled almost half of scheduled contract talks and has failed to respond to 14 of the 21 section proposals made hy the pilots," said Capt. Don Hall, chairman of the TSA pilots' Master Executive Council, which began negotiations with management on April 29.

After five months of unsuccessful contract negotiations, the unit of ALPA representing more than 600 pilots at Trans States Airlines has requested the intervention of the National Mediation Board.

"The pilots want a new contract as quickly as possible," Hall added. "It is unfortunate that this will not happen without the assistance of a federal mediator. …
