Embraer's revenues grow 5-fold.

Consolidation of programs, cost-cutting measures and continued strong sales of its 50 and 30-seat regional jets contributed to Embraer's net profit of $65.7 million on gross revenues of $934 million for the third quarter of 1998. This is the fifth consecutive profitable quarter for the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer.

A major reason for these positive results was the increased production and delivery volume. As of Sept. 30, Embraer had delivered 95 aircraft--10 EMB-120s, 80 ERJ-145s and five AMX jet fighters. …
