UPS will open Hub 2000 at Louisville, Ky., to replace its existing main express hub facility. It will include a 2.7 million-sq.-ft. sorting facility able to process 300,000 packages and documents an hour when completed in 2001. Currently, UPS processes about 165,000 packages per hour at Louisville. Cost of the project is estimated at $860 million.

DHL Airways will build a $170 million build and sort facility at Cincinnati/North Kentucky International. The facility, expected to be completed by fall, 2001, will replace Dill's smaller facility there. …
