Prime Air of British Columbia has engaged the Toronto investment banking firm of Gundy and Assoc., to raise approximately C$5 million ($3.23 million) in a public offering, which will be used to develop a terminal facility and upgrade the runway at the Pemberton Airport, which is 35 min. by air from Vancouver International Airport.

Already, Prime Air has constructed the basic terminal building and proposes to offer scheduled air service from Vancouver and Seattle to Pemberton Airport, to serve the nearby community of Whistler. Voyageur Airways of North Bay, Ont., has been contracted to provide regularly scheduled service, using Dash 7s.

The planned air service is needed, say area residents, because the trip from Pemberton to Vancouver by highway takes 2 1/2 hr. …
