Ansett.(Ansett Airlines and Kendell Airlines)

Ansett will overhaul its regional operations on the east coast of Australia that had been losing A$1 million ($63,700) per week, according to Executive Chairman Rod Eddington, with its subsidiary, Kendell Airlines, taking over many of the routes.

The move, to he accompanied by a A$300 million order for 12 new 50-seat jets for Kendell, will see Ansett Australia withdraw from six routes and cut services on two others.

Ansett plans to undertake more than 70 initiatives over the next three years aimed at lifting its pretax earnings to ahoutA$330 million. …
