AirView, TNCi's information! entertainment system, took to the skies aboard French carrier Fairlines in June

What its maker claims is the only fully digital in-flight entertainment system flying today entered service in June, with new French luxury carrier Fairlines, and at this writing, it was said to be achieving 100% operability.

The AirView system from The Network Connection Inc. (TNCi) was installed on a second Fairlines MD-81 in July. The airline, which is headed by Francois Arpels of the Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry family, ultimately expects to equip 10 MD-81s with the interactive audio/video-on-demand system in a deal valued by TNCi at $13 million.

AirView, to which TNCi likes to refer as an information rather than an entertainment system, is built around the Cheetah family of media servers that the firm has been manufacturing for more than five years, primarily to deliver instruction and training of various types. …
