Malaysia Airlines Chairman Tajudin Ramli said the financially troubled carrier was operating near its break-even load factor despite severely weakened Malaysian currency as the country heads into recession, declining traffic and rising costs.

He indicated that while it can meet current debt payments, MAS will continue to post losses unless it restructures. It plans to sell aircraft and lease them hack, he said. …
