A surge in Cathay Pacific's stock

A surge in Cathay Pacific's stock price coincided with reports that the Hong Kong carrier is preparing to join an alliance, with BA/American the most likely candidate. Cathay quashed reports that an equity stake would be involved. David Turnbull, Cathy MD, told ATW an alliance would be selected by summer's end.
