MINNEAPOLIS--Embraer has no intention of forming partnerships to solve trade disputes, so stated President and CEO Mauricio Botelho in a hastily arranged press conference during the RAA convention.

Building strategic alliances with relevant industry members has always been a strategic concern of Embraer's management. However, this action was never considered a tool to settle any disputes between both countries," said Botelho.

He was responding to remarks by Bombardier sources in a recent Financial Post article in which Embraer allegedly offered to sell pan of its operations as a way to resolve the disputes between the two companies. In response, Bombardier said that Embraer had misrepresented the Canadian manufacturer's position and that "unsubstantiated quotes from industry and government sources were used and were denied by Bombardier in the article," said a Bombardier spokesman. …
