British Aerospace plc will acquire a 35% stake in Saab AB from its owner, Investor AB, for Sek 3.5 billion ($460.5 million). After the listing, which is expected this summer, Investor AR will retain 36% of the votes and 20% of the capital in Saab, which consists of Saab, Saab Aircraft and Saab Aircraft Finance Group.

BAe, which is a partner with Saab on the Gripen jet fighter, says its Asset Management division will take an increasing role in the management of Saab's portfolio of leased 340 and 2000 turboprop aircraft once the transaction is completed. Such a move could create a duplication of services for the new Saab Aircraft leasing and product-support company that handles around 320 aircraft in its portfolio. …
