EMBRAER SUED OVER BRASILIA DESIGN

Delta Connection Comair has filed suit against Brazilian manufacturer Embraer for not warning the airline of design problems on the Brasilia regional airliner.

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Louisville, Ky., faults the manufacturer for not telling the carrier about several instances of icing at other airlines. Comair operates 34 Brasilias.

"...Embraer had a duty to warn Comair and other owners and operators of the EMB-120 aircraft of any dangerous or hazardous conditions existing in the aircraft during certain flight conditions, including flight and icing conditions," the suit stated. …
