EI AI: Healthy passenger traffic growth continued in 1986 at Israel's flag carrier. Boardings were up 4.7% to 1,511,500 while RPKs climbed 4.7% to 6.9 billion. Freight traffic, however, dipped 1.3% to 670 million.

EI AI is forecasting increases of 6.9% in passengers and 5% in RPKs for 1987.

Emirates: The flag carrier of the Emirate of Dubai, which launched operations in October 1985, flew 287,762 passengers, 511 million RPKs and 17.3 million FTKs in 1986 in its leased fleet of one Airbus A300, one Boeing 737-300 and one 727-200. In so doing, it earned an operating profit of $3.26 million on revenues of $63.1 million.

Emirates will take delivery this summer of two A310-300s. …
