Hot speakers and issues on tap at 21st IFSA Conference Should suppliers and vendors be allowed to become associate members of the Inflight Food Services Association? This will be the hto issue at IFSA's 21st Annual Conference May 4-6 at the Doral Country Club in Miami, says president Peter Wetli, director of dining and cabin services at USAir.

The firms which provide food and bevarage items, tableware, galley equipment and other components of inflight dining have been pushing for IFSA membership. Wetli, who favors allowing them in, plans to bring the matter to a vote at the conference. He notes that IFSA's European counterpart, the International Flight Catering Association, not only has supplier membners but a supplier representative on its board of directors as well.

IFSA Chairman Gary Keller of Sky Chefs says sentiment on the issue" is pro and con, but probably more pro than con at this time." One group fears the association might grow too big, he says, while others feel that " with more members we will have more money for projects we want to do, plus input from people very knowledgeable in our industry. …
