NDI returns Australia's Nomad to U.S. market Sarasota--As spring returns to Australia, Florida's Nomad Distributors Int'l, Inc., hopes to return the GAF Nomad to the American commuter/regional airline market. With an allotment of 35 Nomads at its disposal, NDI hopes to crack the lucrative U.S. market barely scratched previously by Government Aircraft Factories, the Australian manufacturer, and Hughes Aircraft, the previous U.S. distributor.

GAF turned out the first production Nomad in 1974 and built 170 prior to halting production in November 1984. An unsold inventory of Nomads remained, providing the equipment for NDI, which bought Hughes' inventory, including spares and training material. …
