Dash 8 Series 300 progresses Once Boeing approved de Havilland's market studies and manufacturing plans for the Series 300 Dash 8 stretch, the project quickly gained momentum in Downsview. Since launching the project earlier this year, DHC employment has grown by about 200. Most of the new employes work on the dash 300.

Wind-tunnel tests of a quarter-scale model ended earlier this summer, clearing the way for modifications to the original Dash 8 test aircraft.

As of this writing, engineers and workers were well along with their preparations to cut the first prototype Dash 8 into three pieces, according to Ron Jackson, Dash 8 project manager. Jackson told ATW that the pieces needed to build the two fuselage plugs were already on hand. …
