1986 Abbotsford air show

Canadian aerospace industry and government leaders with support from the United States and the Soviet Union have pushed their annual Abbotsford air show to the level of an important international event.

This year's week-long show sponsored by Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) had many of the characteristics of a small Paris or Farnborough. It benefitted considerably from its proximity and association with Canada's Expo '86 world's fair in nearby Vancouver and that show's efforts with its Air Fair '86. Most of the events were held at Abbotsford, about 35 miles from Vancouver, with trade days from August 4-7 and public days August 8-10 as the actual abbotsford flying show. …
