Air Afrique: Good traffic growth marked 1985 at Air Afrique. Passenger boardings were up 9.4% to 757,323, RPKs rose 11.9% to 2.4 billion and FTKs climbed 4.5% to 191 million. The Ivory Coast-based carrier is operating three McDonnell Douglas DC-10s, three Airbus A300s, a DC-8-63 and a DC-8-55 freighter.

Air Gabon: Appointment of a new president, Fabien Essono-Owono, and acquisition of a Lockheed L-100 freighter that will allow expansion of cargo service to a number of African cities highlighted 1985 for Air Gabon (ATW, 2/86). The carrier flew 450,800 passengers and 15,000 metric tons of cargo last year in its fleet of a Boeing 747, a 737 and four Fokker F28s. …
