Air Afrique: Traffic was off in 1984 at Air Afrique, with passenger boardings dipping 0.8% to 692,347 and RPKs falling 1.8% to 2.17 billion.

Air Tanzania: Healthy traffic growth continued in 1984 at the Tanzanian national carrier. Passenger boardings jumped 22.7% to 498,533, RPKs climbed 16% to 262.3 million and FTKs soared 63.9% to 2.4 billion.

Ethiopian: Fleet modernization holds the spotlight at Ethiopian Airlines. The carrier took delivery of two extended-range Boeing 767-200s in 1984, and this year it will acquire six de Havilland Twin Otters for use on its domestic routes. Ethiopian also files a 707-320C, five 720Bs, three 727-200s, nine DC-3s and two DHC-5s. …
