We have a special report this month on passenger handling and cabin services. A lot has been happening in these areas lately, especially since deregulation of the airline industry here in the United States.

Some pundits have even called passenger handling and inflight service "the new battlegroup" as airlines fight to woo the business traveler with improved service both on the ground and in the air. The higher yields available in the business travel markets have made such efforts worthwhile. The competition to come up with something new and better has placed a lot of pressure on airline marketing departments. The bettle has been intense, adn there have been many useful innovations.

We at ATW do get to sample the product from time to time. Some of us will do about 50,000 miles before the year is over. So, we thought that some of our opinions about what we like and what we think about recent developments in airline passenger service might be of interest. Herewith we offer a modest commentary:
