RAA members to attack knotty problems. (Regional Airline Association Spring 1984 meeting)

Unpredictable pressures, trends and actions generated during a U.S. presidential election year demand and receive extra vigilance on the part of the U.S. airline industry. Airline managements become super-sensitive to politically inspired winds of change. They are exceptionally responsive to threats or acts which appear to be harmful to the industry and the traveling public.

This year, this long established, political fact of life is especially meaningful to commuter/regional airline executives and members of the Regional Airline Association who will arrive in Washington, D.C. for the annual Spring Meeting at the Shoreham Hotel, May 22-24.

Four years ago the hottest topics were commuter/regional safety, improved management capability, equipment suitability, regulatory compliance and financial stability with public acceptance of commuters as replacements for departing subsidized jet service. …
