Delta, Southwest take the lead again in receiving fewest passenger complaints.

Southwest Airlines had the best consumer complaint record among the U.S. major and national carriers in 1983 with an excellent rate of 0.37 complaints per 100,000 passengers. This is a great improvement over 1982's rate of 0.74, when Southwest also ranked number one.

Delta Air Lines ranked number one among the U.S. majors with 0.70 complaints per 100,000 passengers, down from a rate of 0.79 in 1982. Delta has ranked number one among U.S. majors, or trunks, for 12 out of the 13 years the U.S. Civil Aeronautics Board has been compiling complaint records.
