Spirit Airlines had a net loss of $2.8 million in the first half of 2010 compared to net income of $41.5 million in the year-ago period. The information was contained in the carrier's Registration Statement for an initial public offering of common stock filed in late September. Results for the January-June period of 2010 were impacted negatively by the five-day pilot strike in June, which Spirit estimated reduced operating income by $19 million. …
