SkyWest to acquire ExpressJet.(RegionalNews)(Brief article)

Consolidation in the US regional airline industry accelerated in August as SkyWest Inc., parent of SkyWest Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines, agreed to acquire ExpressJet Holdings for $6.75 per share in cash or approximately $133 million. The deal came just a month after Delta Air Lines sold its Mesaba Aviation and Compass Airlines subsidiaries to Pinnacle Airlines Corp. and Trans States Holdings respectively.
