Concorde crash to go to trial in Paris.(NewsBriefs)(Brief article)

Eight years after the crash of an Air France Concorde, a French judge ruled that five individuals as well as Continental Airlines should stand trial for manslaughter in the disaster. The decision, announced July 3, did not specify a trial date.

All 109 people onboard AF4590 and four persons on the ground were killed in the July 25, 2000, accident at Paris Charles de Gaulle. The crash occurred after debris from a burst tire pierced the Concorde's wing and wing tank, causing damage to the wing and systems and allowing fuel to escape and ignite as the aircraft was taking off.
