Bombardier struck first in the 110/130-seat market as it launched its CSeries aircraft program at Farnborough with a "letter of interest" from Lufthansa for 30 firm orders plus 30 options. The aircraft, which will be powered by Pratt & Whitney's PW1000G geared turbofan, will be priced at $46.7 million. If all options are exercised, the LH contract would be valued at $2.8 billion. Entry into service is slated for 2013.
